Exploring Your Internal Ecosystem

Every body is unique. Rather than ordering a bunch of expensive and unnecessary labs, we select testing options intentionally during your initial consultation tailored to your specific symptoms and health goals
Test & Collection:
Comprehensive Stool Analysis (e.g., GI-MAP) | Stool sample (At-home collection)
Who It’s For:
Persistent bloating, irregular bowel habits (diarrhea/constipation), gas, heartburn/acid reflux, food sensitivities, stubborn skin issues, or suspected dysbiosis and SIBO.
What It Investigates:
Commensal (beneficial) and pathogenic bacteria, yeast/candida overgrowth, parasites, digestive enzyme output, secretory IgA (gut immune barrier), and markers of intestinal inflammation (calprotectin) or leaky gut.
Why We Use It:
Identifies microbial imbalances and digestive deficiencies at the cellular level so we can build targeted antimicrobial or gut-restoration protocols instead of guessing with broad-spectrum supplements.
Comprehensive Gut Microbiome & Digestive Health
Test & Collection:
Comprehensive Hormone & Adrenal Panels (e.g., DUTCH Test) | Dried urine or saliva (At-home collection)
Who It’s For:
Irregular or painful cycles, PMS/PMDD, chronic fatigue, stubborn weight shifts, mid-afternoon energy crashes, sleep disruptions, or adult acne.
What It Investigates:
24-hour cortisol/cortisone rhythm patterns (stress curve), estrogen metabolites and phase I/II detoxification pathways, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, melatonin, and androgen metabolism.
Why We Use It:
Provides a complete 24-hour picture of how your body produces, utilizes, and breaks down hormones—far beyond what a single morning blood draw can capture.
Comprehensive Hormone & Adrenal Dynamics
Test & Collection:
Mycotoxins, Environmental Toxins & Heavy Metals | Urine or hair sample (At-home collection)
Who It’s For:
Unexplained brain fog, chronic fatigue, neurological symptoms, chemical sensitivities, or persistent systemic inflammation that hasn't responded to basic dietary changes.
What It Investigates:
Mycotoxin levels from environmental mold exposure, non-metal industrial chemicals, plastics, pesticides (like glyphosate), and heavy metal bioaccumulation (lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic).
Why We Use It:
Uncovers hidden environmental blockers that tax your liver and detoxification pathways, allowing us to safely open drainage channels and remove specific toxic burdens.
Toxic Burden & Environmental Exposure
Test & Collection:
Organic Acids Test (OAT) | Morning urine (At-home collection)
Who It’s For:
Low stamina, mood fluctuations, brain fog, poor exercise recovery, unexplained fatigue, mitochondrial dysfunction, or suspected nutrient malabsorption despite a nutrient-dense diet.
What It Investigates:
Cellular energy production (Krebs cycle markers), neurotransmitter breakdown metabolites, oxalate accumulation, B-complex and vitamin C co-factor status, and organic microbial overgrowth markers (yeast/clostridia).
Why We Use It:
Acts as a real-time metabolic 'snapshot,' pinpointing exactly where your cellular energy machinery is stalling so we can unclog biochemical bottlenecks.
Cellular Energy & Metabolic Snapshot
Test & Collection:
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) & Micronutrient Panels | Hair tissue, blood spot, or serum
Who It’s For:
Chronic burnout, hair loss, low stress tolerance, slow thyroid function, anxiety, chronic muscle tension, poor recovery, or checking deep mineral reserves during replenishment protocols.
What It Investigates:
Intracellular and extracellular levels of essential vitamins, critical mineral ratios (e.g., Sodium/Potassium for adrenals, Calcium/Magnesium for stress), metabolic rate indicators, and soft-tissue heavy metal excretion.
Why We Use It:
Measures functional intracellular mineral levels over time rather than circulating serum levels, ensuring targeted supplementation refills true cellular reserves.
Micronutrient, Mineral & Heavy Metal Balance
Test & Collection:
Delayed Food Sensitivity Panels (IgG/IgA) | Finger-prick blood spot or serum
Who It’s For:
Joint discomfort, post-meal fatigue, systemic puffiness, unexplained skin flare-ups (eczema, hives), chronic body aches, or creating a targeted, temporary elimination-and-reintroduction plan.
What It Investigates:
Delayed IgG and IgA immune complex responses to common dietary proteins, additives, spices, and environmental foods (distinct from immediate IgE food allergies).
Why We Use It:
Distinguishes between true immediate allergies and delayed inflammatory immune responses, preventing overly restrictive diets while calming systemic gut-derived inflammation.
Food Reactivity & Immune Response
Test & Collection:
Functional Genetics & DNA Panels | Cheek swab or saliva (At-home collection)
Who It’s For:
Individuals seeking a lifetime foundational blueprint to understand their innate biological tendencies, optimize detoxification, and guide long-term preventive nutrition.
What It Investigates:
Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) affecting methylation pathways (e.g., MTHFR), histamine clearance, nutrient conversions (Vitamin D, B12), detoxification capacity, and dietary fat metabolism.
Why We Use It:
Reveals your unique genetic hardwiring so we can work with your DNA—using specific nutrient co-factors to bypass genetic speedbumps and tailor lifelong preventive strategies.

Common Curiosities
Are functional labs covered by insurance?
Functional labs focus on root-cause optimization rather than disease diagnosis, so they are typically out-of-network. However, many clients successfully use HSA or FSA accounts to cover testing fees.
Do I need to do every test?
Absolutely not. Testing is never a one-size-fits-all approach. We start with a comprehensive clinical assessment to identify if testing is necessary, and if so, which panel(s) yield the highest clinical return for your investment.
How do I receive and order my test kits?
All recommended test panels are curated directly in your secure client portal following our initial consultation. You will receive a direct notification where you can review your custom plan and order your test kit(s) with a single click. The physical collection kit(s) will then ship directly to your home address.
Can I use my HSA or FSA account to pay for testing?
In many cases, yes! Most clients successfully use their Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account debit cards to pay for functional lab kits and consultations. We recommend double-checking with your individual plan administrator to confirm your specific coverage rules for specialty lab testing.
Can I get a superbill to submit to my insurance?
Specialty diagnostic laboratories bill directly through our portal, so lab fees are paid directly at checkout and are not eligible for traditional insurance billing or superbills. However, focusing on out-of-pocket functional testing allows us to order advanced root-cause panels that standard insurance models often refuse to cover.
Are these tests difficult to complete at home?
Not at all! Nearly all our specialized functional panels (stool, dried urine, saliva, hair tissue, or finger-prick blood spots) are designed for simple, comfortable collection in the privacy of your own home. Test kits come complete with clear step-by-step instructions and pre-paid return shipping materials.
Note: A small number of specialized blood panels (like comprehensive methylation or full serum nutrient panels) do require a standard blood draw with a local phlebotomist. If your recommended test requires a lab visit, your kit will still ship directly to your home complete with clear instructions and resources to help you easily locate and schedule a draw center near you.
Do I need to stop taking my supplements or medications before testing?
Never stop taking prescription medications without consulting your prescribing physician. However, certain dietary supplements (like probiotics, digestive enzymes, high-dose biotin, or anti-inflammatories) may need to be paused for 3 to 7 days prior to sample collection to ensure the most accurate results. You will receive precise preparation guidelines within the test kit. Please follow these instructions carefully.
How long does it take to get my test results back?
Processing times vary by laboratory, but most functional specialty labs take approximately 2 to 3 weeks from the date the laboratory receives your sample. Once all your results are uploaded and analyzed, we will meet for your dedicated results review session (75 mins).
What happens after my results come in?
We never just hand you a complex multi-page lab report to figure out on your own. During our dedicated lab review session, we translate your raw biochemical markers into clear, actionable insights. From there, we build a tailored, step-by-step protocol encompassing whole-food nutrition, targeted supplementation, botanical protocols, functional movement, and lifestyle support to address your specific findings.
What if I’m not sure which test I need?
You don't need to know! Choosing the right lab panel is part of our clinical work together. During your initial consultation, we review your full health history, current symptoms, and daily habits to pinpoint exactly where we need deeper answers, ensuring you never waste time or money on unnecessary testing.
